Frequently Asked Questions

Questions students ask us, answered straight

Everything you need to know about preparing for WASSCE, JAMB and NECO with WAEC EXAM — dates, practice, accounts and how the platform works.

Is WAEC EXAM free to use?

Yes. Practising questions, sitting mock tests, joining the 1v1 Arena and appearing on the leaderboards are all free. You do not need to pay or enter any card details to prepare with WAEC EXAM.

Which exams does WAEC EXAM cover?

WAEC EXAM prepares you for the exams Nigerian students sit at the end of secondary school and for university entry: WASSCE for school candidates, WAEC GCE for private candidates, NECO SSCE, and the JAMB UTME. Practice covers 14 subjects, from English Language and General Mathematics to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics and Government.

Are the questions real past questions?

The practice bank holds roughly 14,000 questions drawn from past examinations across 14 subjects, covering papers from 2015 to 2026. Answers are checked against the marking standard for each paper, and every question shows the year it comes from so you can practise by year or mix years together.

What are the WAEC, JAMB and NECO exam dates for 2027?

As of October 2026, none of the exam bodies has published a final 2027 timetable. The Federal Ministry of Education has proposed a harmonised calendar — JAMB UTME from 15 to 25 March 2027, NECO SSCE from 1 April to 14 May 2027, and WASSCE from 11 May to 18 June 2027 — but the bodies themselves must still confirm their own dates. NECO has opened registration for the 2027 SSCE (Internal). Our Syllabus & Timetable Hub tracks every announcement and is updated the moment an official timetable is released.

Do I need an account to practise?

No. You can start practising immediately as a guest. Creating a free account saves your scores, keeps your practice history, earns you XP, and puts you on the Smart, Arena and Schools leaderboards — and any results you earned as a guest are carried into your account when you sign up.

What is the 1v1 Arena?

The Arena is a head-to-head battle mode. You and another student answer the same timed questions; the faster, more accurate player wins, earns XP and climbs the Arena rankings. You can challenge friends directly or practise against training opponents when nobody is online.

How do the leaderboards work?

There are three boards. The Smart leaderboard ranks students by practice performance, the Arena leaderboard ranks battle players by rating, and the Schools leaderboard ranks schools by the combined performance of their students — so every test you take also pushes your school up the national table.

Can my school take part?

Yes. WAEC EXAM carries a catalogue of over 100,000 Nigerian schools. If your school is listed, link it to your profile and your scores count towards the school's position. Teachers and school administrators can also follow their students' standing on the Schools leaderboard.

Is WAEC EXAM run by WAEC?

No. WAEC EXAM is an independent exam-preparation platform. We are not affiliated with WAEC, JAMB or NECO, and practising here does not register you for any official examination — always complete your registration through your school or the exam body's official portal.

Does WAEC EXAM work on my phone?

Yes. WAEC EXAM is built for phones first and works in any modern browser. You can also install it to your home screen like an app, and it is designed to stay light on data — questions are text-based and pages are kept small.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Use the "Forgot password" link on the login page and we will email you a reset link. If you signed up with Google, use the Google sign-in button instead — your account is the same.
